I like the melody of the chorus. Memorable. This is a solid effort. Very good work. Not much more to say about it. It’s there and on the level. I don’t hear it at number 1 but this is a solid song.”

BEFORE THE SPOTLIGHT
Ya know, it’s rare that I hear the kind of selfless kind of proclamation of belief in my ability, strength, passion, art, voice, capabilities, intelligence in my craft. I mean, it’s not like I don’t ever get complimented and it’s not that I don’t appreciate everyone’s compliments all the time. But I can honestly say there are three seperate people at seperate times in my life that kind of wiped any question marks I had in my head AWAY when it came to me believing whether or not I was really good enough… whether or not I really had what it took to do my “job”.
My math teacher, Mr. Surges, walked up to me and said “I would do great things someday” when I was hellbent on learning some math equations that were ALWAYS hard for me to understand. Instead of ignoring the problem, I faced it head on – and didn’t give up until I got his assignment done. I think he was impressed with my “sticktoitiveness” haha…how I forced myself to barrell through the assignment – no matter how hard it was – to say I completed it — and understood, what I later found out was heard because of my own learning dissabilities. I’ll never forget that day. And I’ll never forget that teacher. He treated me with respect – and made me feel I had something wonderful to offer — the future and on that very day.
Then, there was my silly friend/boss/older brother figure, Jay Spence. Jay was a boss of mine in one of my odd jobs when first in Los Angeles, barely out of my teens. Jay was a photographer…one of the very best I’ve ever witnessed. He loved his art and that made me love the guy more. For some reason, he took a special interest in me and he gave me the responsibility of being studio manager, a publicist for him representing his work, he even shot me for my own musical career. In sharing our lives, in a personal moment during a regular ol’ work day — he taught me about “respecting myself”. He had that older brotherly kind of way of treating me, joking around, and then teaching me something…sneaking the lesson in. I met some really great people at his studio and learned some pretty valuable life lessons there at Jay Spence Photography. He taught me not only to “respect myself”…but to “believe in myself” and to work hard. He saw something valuable in me aside of my musical and acting career – and he made me see something inside of MYSELF. Jay died in a horrible car crash just days before my own birthday coming back from a weekend getaway skiing with all of his buddies on the way back from Mammoth. To this day, I never realized it…but on a daily basis he used to call me “bubba”. And subconsciously for years since his death I have been saying that, lovingly calling people/friends, “bubba” and not realizing what was happening… What was happening was JAY had never left me. And I feel to this very day, he’s helping me through what has been a pretty rough period in my “BREAKING POINT” – of my story, in my road. It’s absolutely unbelievable that such an amazing human being just “vanished”…from everyone’s life so young and FILLED with life, spirit, life force, love for his art, and love for his friends and family and everyone. But I’m glad I realized this the other day, when Mikey Facebooked me about his picture with Jay. I cried bc it was so sad that he was gone…almost seemed surreal. But then I had that thought about “Bubba”. And laughed. And then I felt like he was with me…and I think maybe he has always been. Thanks Jay.
In my constant search for solid ground in this trecherous music industry, and in my search for “guidance”, within a “manager”, I happened upon a woman via an associate I too was very HAPPY to meet – who will remain nameless – who I don’t work with anymore (for the best in this stage of my career). He handles the dough of some of the biggest stars in music, and in entertainment in general. I was the green defiant new kid on the block, the messy, scattered, freaked out young superstar in the making — with all the makings of what everyone is thinking will be something very exceptional someday. (I hope they’re right.) In this very turbulent and RECENT portion of my career, my “associate” who handled me sent me to many powerful people. They all were VERY intrigued, they all LOVED what I had built for myself and they ALL recognized my ability in one way or another. But really, there was always something “behind” whatever it was they saw in me — and their motivations, I believe, would have been mostly negative for my career. But then my “associate” sent me to Caresse Henry. He told me that Caresse was the former manager of Madonna (among other VERY famous people like Ricky Martin, Jessica Simpson, Joss Stone, Jessica Simpson, Paula Abdul and comedian Andrew Dice Clay.). I had very long conversations with Caresse about my project, what I built, where I thought I was headed, my new technology, my deals with FOX, my marketing plan, and everything that I had done for myself up to now. While Caresse was very impressed with my laundry list of ackalaides I had created for myself — she ended up passing…and I couldn’t understand why. We kept in touch and I continued to keep her update on everything I was doing and going through. She would send me nice facebook notes and sweet quick emails of encouragement. Even really funny stuff when I thought I was going to quit…like, (and I am paraphrasing now), “Oh Brian, why don’t you just go out and enjoy yourself a little bit. Go have a drink and smoke a joint!” I laughed my butt off at that statement — and literally her silly words did the trick. While I did NOT take th advice (assuming she was probably joking and I hate pot and always too busy to get too hammered) that silly comment totally made me lighten up, within the fight. It was the littlest thing. Then I thought to myself…how awesome is it that MADONNA’s former MANAGER is EVEN TALKING TO ME — and TEETERING on STILL WANTING TO MANAGE ME!! At that point, I felt like I was kind of “coming into my own”. She previously had told me she wouldn’t REALLY consider ever getting back into the business unless it was something VERY challenging – something to really sink her teeth into that dealt with NEW MEDIA, and a bunch of other stuff. Well, I fit all those qualifications… I kept her updated even after that and I heard less and less from her and couldn’t understand why. One day, I saw through Linked In someone working for the “MUSIC INDUSTRY REPORT” posted some information that shattered me…Rocked me to the core. Caresse Henry was found dead in her Orange County home with with what looked like a self inflicted gunshot wound. That sentence bothers me a lot to even type or read. I think sometimes it makes me angry — that ANOTHER person who was so filled with life, joy, intelligence, and who was SUCH a WELL RESPECTED PRO in “the game” – passed away and can never be here to say another word to me or anyone about anything. It’s like they just “vanished”. I remembered everything from her silly “solution” to her serious words of encouragement and her solid critique of who I was as an artist, as a business person, and her positive assessment of what my career was and had the potential to be. Caresse, like Jay, and like Mr. Surges took an amazing interest in who I was as a person and a product from a business perspective that facilitated MADONNA — THE BIGGEST POP ICON I WILL EVER KNOW IN MY LIFETIME – THE LEGEND, “MADONNA”. It breaks my heart that she is gone. It also breaks my heart that in her darkest hour I wasn’t there to help save her. And so many days before I found out I had thought about popping in to say “hello” and reach out to her for more “advice” — but then I was mad at myself for being “selfish”. It breaks my heart that she didn’t have anyone around her to tell her NOT TO DO IT. It makes me mad at myself for not having called her. While I didn’t know Caresse for that long — she made me definitively feel pride in my accomplishments…that until then were clouded by the stress, convuluted business dealings, and plethora of sharks swimming around me in the tank called the “music business” as I flailed like an injured seal — or obstructed by the terrible folks either trying to rip me off or waiting in wonderment for the final moment when they could see me crash and burn – and hard. Caresse’s positive assessment(s), over a short period of time, helped me through some of my own darkest and hardest moments — giving me the faith I needed to continue my fight. I wonder if she knows what she did for me? I wonder if she knows how much she is missed? I dunno.
“ELECTRICITY” (feat. Ya Boy) is a song that will (I don’t think) not ever have a proper music video since the production got shut down. (I can just hear Caresse saying, “So what, shit happens. Move on…keep going. Have a drink, would ya? Lighten up.” or something like that…) The song is so significant for me that all the photography on the single is JAY’s to symbolize a positive “energy” if you will – something very “good” surrounding the packaging and fueling the marketing on the single and remixes path to what is now, officially, bonefide success. I even am going to dedicate a portion of the proceeds to continue the charitable component to helping others, because I feel I’m along in my fight — but why should anyone else have to be? Just as I am a spokesperson to stand up for people who feel maybe a little different or looked at differently like the special olympics, I would like to be a source of “goodness” and “win” in my fight — so I can help others through using my music – do something awesome with all that attention to shine a bright light on others in need. That’s pretty much my dream…and what I’ve learnt is my life’s purpose, I figure… I want to carry out the good that the three individuals above did for me along my rough road…fueling my path…giving the strength to carry on and fight through the plethora of obstacles standing in my way and barrell through roadblocks I was said to never ever have gottent through.
So my very talented “assistant” (and someday very famous editor, and maybe even female director), JUIE, that you see in episodes of “Becoming: Brian”, made this very befitting music video for me, showing a bunch of the rehearsals, blood, sweat, tears, craziness, happy moments, silliness, intensity, heartache, on my insane road “less traveled”.
I hope you like it. I LOVE IT. Julie’s a little rockstar. So are all of my dancers – I’m so proud of them for sticking it out — putting up with me — and helping me to get where I need to go… I’m so blessed. I’m also so blessed to have known my three friends up top. So in light of Caresse’s recent passing, I dedicated this video to her to light her path to the man upstairs with a little “ELECTRICITY” …for a well lit journey on her flight. But really, the video is dedicated to all of them, all my fans, all my friends and the family here and everywhere not even related to me that became more family to me than some of my real family members.
I have had the unique opportunity to live out many of my dreams. It’s not been easy. And if you want to achieve your dreams and think you CAN’T DO IT — just look at me. I’m a kid from a small town that never had a bunch of money that worked in a Yogurt shop at thirteen years old (by way of note from my father) to earn money after school and during the summer to record in a local studio the size of a broom closet. It can be done. Just have faith in yourself and your talent. Believe in yourself. Like my dad says, “Don’t Quit”. Never give up. “Show them who you are…”
I AM going to learn to start enjoying myself more though — per instruction from Miss Caresse. (I promise.)
So never forget to have fun, too.

“Nice Job- Production is very current. Sounds fresh and current so you did very well. One thing re the composition – urban songs are very repetitive but usually have edge – this is a pop song and could use a little lift in the peaks and choruses – the hooks should generally go up in the melody – you kinda nailed that here but a bigger lift in chorus may help. Not a big deal but it sticks in your head better that way. Would love to hear more stuff! I would say you have a lot of potential!”

The Video’s Concept will be geared to FASHION and this SPRING/SUMMER’s FASHION season and runway shows in hopes
i may get to perform at select collection’s production in LA, NY, MIA, Paris, Milan, etc. My idea was to make the video a mash-up of
two music video refs: Britney’s “3″ and George Michael’s “Too Funky”. I thought it would be really cool and ahead of
the curve to emulate the Herb Ritzy – ealry 90’s SUPERMODEL FASCINATION and explosion and kinda bring that back.
Not to mention its a nod to George Michael – who I grew up admiring professionally as a songwriter, producer, and performer.
Mike liked the whole “Too Funky” idea…so he decided it would be fun to make. Still wanting to push the song in an effort to raise money for AmFar, ONE CAMPAIGN,
and American Red Cross so this type of fashion oriented video really lends itself to my initial vision – bk before Christmas.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JANUARY 17th, 2010
SOGNI RECORDS and Brian Anthony have confirmed a FEBRUARY 20th performance at CHERRY BOOM for about 2000 people capacity in a West Hollywood POP/Dance club – the most popular in the area.
Recently Lady Ga Ga, and Katy Perry have performed at the venue – and now Brian will be taking center stage. The same venue is known for similar clubs CHERRY POP and SUPER CHERRY POP. Unlike those other two nights also promoted by Tom Whitman Presents, one of Los Angeles most prominent club promoters, CHERRY BOOM combines the two massive venues into one creating this MONSTER venue that happens every 3rd Saturday of ea. month.
The venue is at ULTRA SUEDE LOUNGE right next to APPLE on Robertson. The largest portion of the venue combines a club with LOTS of history in the city of West Hollywood, CA – THE FACTORY – where many a major performer has graced the stage.
Set list for the nights performances will include Brian’s TOP 10 (Peak #7 at U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart) “WORKED UP!” featured in “DRAGONBALL : EVOLUTION”. He will also be debuting the live performance of “ELECTRICITY” in the states – currently at #50 on the Billboard Dance Chart and previously in “ALIENS IN THE ATTIC” starring Ashley Tisdale.
Brian will, of course, also be chaperoned by the lights, camera, action of HOLLYWOOD portion of his project – his reality show, “BECOMING BRIAN” for 20th Century Fox’s FOXMOBILE. The first of its kind mobile reality show will be chronicling the nights events as Brian runs through the trials and tribulations of pop celebrity while the world is watching his every move, doing everything on his own, while still “indie” and competing on the BILLBOARD chart for slots and positions mostly dominated by major label artists.
Brian is trying to arrange a “meet and greet” with fans afterwards, so check back for more details on this as they come through. Make sure to tell your friends to get to CHERRY BOOM on Feb 20th, as the camera’s of the reality show might just include you for his show if you are in attendance – and you may find yourself in some of the scenes with him! Not a bad bonus for what will already be a tremendous evening’s activities!!! Brian has had the amazing opportunity to be attending the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games last August and making friends and meeting some very wonderful allies that think Brian should bring his future musical endeavors to CHINA — and then the rest of ASIA!! Not only that, Brian has made friends with Bian Liunian, the most famous songwriter/producer that has worked with every major POP SENSATION in CHINA and responsible for music supervising and performing at the closing ceremonies at the OLYMPICS in Beijing! Together, they will join forces in collaborating on a musical project crafted JUST FOR CHINA, later spreading that music throughout the whole of ASIA. Brian is VERY excited about the opportunity himself, Bian, and his colleagues have been nurturing for the past year…and are looking forward to the possibility of Brian’s possible performance for Bian at the SPRING FESTIVAL in mid/late February, and later performances of Bian’s custom crafted “east meets west” POP track possibly at THE WORLD EXPO for 2010!!! Stay tuned to hear what magic is to evolve and how Brian’s project w/ CHINA begins to take shape! This will be another adventure they SURELY will document for “BECOMING : BRIAN” – one YOU won’t wanna miss!!! KONICHIWA!

Stadium Perforamnce for SPECIAL OLYMPICS, CANADA!
Hey you guys… I’m flying out on the 21st and I’ll be in WINDSOR, ONT, CANADA for a Stadium performance where I am also taping for my reality show. Open to public. 4-6000 people and televised performance of “WORKED UP!”, “ELECTRICITY” and the finale during the lighting of the ceremonial torch is done during my perf of “CHAMPION”. Suprise premiere of the new MUSIC VIDEO with a “special” cut JUST FOR THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS ORGANIZATION!!! FOX and I worked hard – and Thom Calderone did an amazing job with Ben from China on POST and FX! Thanks guys!!! I hope everyone in Canada watches and likes the new single – “ELECTIRICITY” that features YA BOY www.myspace.com/yaboy! He’s awesome! The song is DOPE! DVDs of all my music video and suprise trailer from my own reality show on it. I will also be doing lots of press/media and will be doing a MEET & GREET! Anthony is a strong advocate for the Special Olympics. He originally wrote “Champion”
for the 2005 Special Olympics Summer Games. He then had the opportunity
to shoot the music video for the heartfelt anthem on the Great Wall of
China and at the entrance to the Forbidden City during the 2008 Summer
Olympics. Now, he has enlisted the help of 20th Century Fox’s team of
major motion picture editors to incorporate footage of the athletes in
the music video that will run during his special performance at the
